Audition FAQ
-
Yes. Our joint audition process works in a way where we evaluate everyone together and then give individualized feedback as to which group we think your skill sets best fit with at the time.
If you are open to participating in either group, you will be placed where we think you’d be the most successful.
-
We recommend auditionees bring their personal sticks/mallets, printed audition music, water bottle, required medications (asthma inhaler, etc.), personal snacks, and anything else you’ll need to get through the day.
All equipment will be provided, however when you are not playing on an instrument, we also recommend bringing a drum pad to play on and stay engaged.
-
Please wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes (no jeans, Crocs, high tops, etc.). For those auditioning for battery positions, there will be a comprehensive visual portion including both marching and dance elements.
We will be outside as much as the weather allows.
-
No food is provided by MCPA during auditions. A lunch break is built into the schedule to allow for participants to leave the campus and get food in the surrounding area.
You are welcome to bring your own lunch as there will be spaces to eat at the audition locations.
